Coaching Experience

In 2016 and 2017, Garren Allala qualified both his 14s and 16s teams for GJNC. He  brings over 20 years  of playing and coaching experience to the Rage staff. His Rage teams have qualified for Junior National Championships every year for the past 7 years since joining Rage. In 2015 Garren became the first Rage coach to Head coach two Rage teams to nationals in the same year. In 2013 and 2014 his teams earned a top 25 in the Nation finish in the tough Open Division.  Garren also heads up the Rage Beach Club.

Garren’s playing experience began in 1990 playing for Long Beach City College. There he was both a setter and defensive specialist.  He has competed in the NCVA Men’s Indoor‘AA’ division as well as earned an ‘AAA’ Beach Rating.  Garren has also competed in the prestigious NCVA Pro/AM Grass doubles Circuit.  Garren began coaching at the club level with Delta Valley in 1991.  For the next 17 years Garren assisted and led many teams to the Junior Olympics.  In 2003, he coached  his 17-2 Team to a Bronze Medal win at the J.O.’s.  The following year his 18-1  team finished 5th and in 2005 the 17-1 team finished 10th in the Open Division.  Garren led the 18-1 team in 2006 to another Bronze medal win and again medaled Bronze in 2008 with the 17-1 team.  Garren also moved up to the college level and shared his experience while assisting  in 1994 and 1995 at San Joaquin Delta College.  Then in 1996 he assisted St. Mary’s high school to a CIF state Finals.  In 1997 he led the JV team at St. Mary’s to become league Champions.  Garren then moved over to Lodi High where he led his JV team to share the championship in 1998. Garren has been involved in many clinics and camps and holds various certifications.  In 2004/2005Garren was the USA Volleyball High Performance Developmental Camp Coach.  He has coached for various camps including UOP and Berkeley.   

Additional Accomplishments
Garren holds a CAP level II coaching certificate and USAV IMPACT certificate.  Garren is also EMT certified. Over the years Garren has coached and produced countless division 1 scholarship athletes.  His technical approach to the game and focus on defensive strategies make him a leader in the arena of coaching.
